The amazingly active Trips Committee has announced two new excursions.

On Wed., June 19, New York Botanical Garden, Bronx: “Brazilian Modern: The Living Art of Roberto Burle Marx” (1909-1994).

Discover this landscape architect, innovative artist and conservationist through a specially created garden with tall palm trees and lush tropical plants of Brazil; signature curved, patterned pathways; a sculptural water feature; and a living wall. His vibrant paintings, drawings and textiles are on view in the Mertz Library. The exhibition also includes a recreated Sitio, his home and living laboratory of plants near Rio, where he entertained friends from around the world.

Then on Wed., June 26, Storm King Art Center, New Windsor: World-class sculpture park of modern and contemporary art in a 500-acre landscape of rolling hills, woodlands and fields. Docent tour of sculptures on Museum Hill; tram ride to see outlying sculptures; see site-specific works by Alexander Calder, Andy Goldsworthy, Maya Lin, Isamu Noguchi, Richard Serra, David Smith, Mark di Suvero, and many others.

These two trips will fill up fast. Sign-up ASAP in the Trips Book located in the Activities Alcove.
