The Recycling Committee aims to help everyone at Kendal recycle appropriate materials as easily and efficiently as possible.  To that end, they met twice during the past year, reported at a Residents Association Quarterly meeting, and made a presentation to a Residents Council meeting.  They have also prepared a clear and helpful guide to how to recycle various materials.

One of the things we try to check once or twice a year is the signage in trash rooms. Residents need clear indications as to what can be recycled, and where it should be placed. If the signage is missing or unclear in your trash room, please let me (Deb Wood) know and I will provide new signs.

Please note that the disposable hot and cold drink cups and lids available in the Bistro are recyclable.  Just rinse them! The small and large green containers continue to be available for food take-out. They need to be rinsed out and returned to the Bistro so that they can be put through the sterilizer and used again. Westchester County does not recycle Styrofoam, so those containers must be put in the trash.
