A Note from Penny Brome
Thanks, Jeff, for the newcomers file! The picture collections Horst has given us of residents since the beginning have been such a help. Your recent file of pictures of new residents is a revelation. (And not just because my sister is in it!) This is a great group of newcomers. The ones I already know are so varied and interesting. I look forward to meeting the VERY new. With your file on hand we have a much better chance of getting the names straight! Penny Brome

Comment on Video about Need for Medical Aid in Dying
I saw the very moving video on medically assisted dying on the KoH web site. Please note that since that film was shot, there are now seven U. S. jurisdictions in this country that permit this: Oregon, Washington, Montana, Vermont, California, Colorado, and the District of Columbia.
In New York State the New York Civil Liberties Union, the N.Y.S. Public Health Association, the Medical Society of New York State, and the N.Y.S. Academy of Family Physicians all support it. And so does polled public opinion. The film is clear as to where the opposition comes from in this state. The tail wags the dog, alas.
